At One Smile Dental, we are pleased to accept orthodontic patient referrals from local general dentists and we will always put the needs, wishes and concerns of your patients first. We deliver the highest quality treatment possible ensuring that at all times, you are fully informed about progress and outcomes.
Once we receive your referral, we will then contact the patient directly to make an appointment for consultation, keeping you informed of progress. at every stage.
One Smile Dental is happy to give advice about referring a child to an NHS Orthodontic Practice if a general dentist has recommended NHS Orthodontic Treatment.
If you are interested in private treatment for your child, we would be pleased to arrange an initial consultation. Private treatment can often be started sooner than NHS treatment, providing a wider range of orthodontic appliance choices including Invisalign clear aligners. We can also offer patient finance subject to status and acceptance.
We greatly value the trust and confidence you place in us to provide your patients with the best possible treatment and care. To support this, we have created a Referral Charter.

We will provide you with convenient options to refer patients and do our best to ensure that patient data is always stored safely and securely in accordance with relevant laws and guidelines.
We will keep you informed of any other required general treatment throughout your patients’ journey so they can arrange an appointment directly with you.
We will not actively solicit the business of any referral patient beyond the scope of the referral work itself. In the rare case that a referral patient requests ongoing dental services from us, we will advise them to discuss the matter with you first and we will contact you to inform you of their request.
We will do all we can to help strengthen the professional relationship you have with your patient including highlighting the fact that we work in partnership with you and that you remain fully informed at all times.
